# Provenance audit: themessage.txt

- Normalized A-Z length: **6448**
- SHA-256: `50BD9C4424DB47E15CC3A543C379B6EC722C8EAED76FBAEEF738B0427D4E8E75`
- Original released URL: `https://pastebin.com/BcMucDVh` (now unavailable; raw endpoint returned 404 during audit).
- `47 x 137 = 6439`; difference: **9** letters.
- `23 x 137 = 3151` is the separate 3151-pixel Arecibo-like stage, not this ciphertext's length.

## Source trail

- [Contemporary preservation of the released ciphertext and the original Pastebin URL.](https://scienceblogs.de/klausis-krypto-kolumne/2017/03/30/tengri-137-has-posted-again/)
- [Subreddit sidebar, archived in the live old-Reddit view, links themessage.txt to Pastebin ID BcMucDVh.](https://old.reddit.com/r/tengri137/)
- [Contemporary discussion establishes 3151 = 23 x 137 and identifies the adjacent decimal stream as the separate Arecibo-like bitmap stage.](https://old.reddit.com/r/tengri137/comments/635buu/prime_factors_of_3151_23_x_137_this_not_by_random/)

## Conclusion

The specimen is reproducibly identified, but neither the surviving sources nor its length select nine letters to remove. A 47x137 rendering therefore remains an unsupported hypothesis.
